Because variety is the spice of life! We change our guest ales every few weeks to keep things interesting - this is what's on now.
Brewed to offer a less overtly bitter finish, Baa Baa is a light, sessionable cask ale with bursts of citrus and zest. The light malt base allows the hops to shine and sing on the palate with prominent citrus and lemon flavours shining through. A perfect session ale in summer or winter.
Best Bitter packs a genuine spiky bitterness with big character. Challenger, Goldings and Fuggle hops blend to create a beautiful aroma and flavour with kicks of grassy freshness and a big peppery punch. The Maris Otter malt offers a light sweetness that balances against those big bitter characters.
Another one of Lawrence the landlord's absolute faves (you may have to fight him and Jonny for it). Packed full of citrus, pineapple and grapefruit resinous flavours with a fine crisp bitter finish.
We pride ourselves on having the best ales in Cambridge. These are the ones we always have on, because they're just too good not to.
Lawrence the landlord's all-time favourite beer. Malty, lovely mahogany colour and just a hint of sweet caramel.
The quintessential session ale. Hoppy, bitter and refreshing.
A light malty aroma on the nose with a little spice drifting through slowly. With a smooth offering of darker malts, toasted flavours and creamy hops.
Expertly balanced malted barley and the finest European Saaz hops give this classic Belgian beer a well-balanced flavour profile; pleasantly bitter with a refreshing finish.
Carlsberg is light, easy drinking and refreshing. The all-malt recipe and Carlsberg yeast strain give a balance between body and depth of flavour, making Carlsberg the ideal choice for any occasion.
Layered with new world hops to create an explosion of tropical fruit and a burst of grapefruit, pineapple and lychee before a spiky bitter finish.
A wheat beer brewed with Valencia orange peel for a subtle sweetness and bright, citrus aroma. Served with an orange slice to heighten the citrus aroma and taste.
Fruity, dry, racy, thirst-quenching and lip-smacking. Suitable for coeliacs, vegetarians and vegans.
Probably the most recognisable beer there is. A perfect balance of bitter and sweet with malt and roast flavours.
